School of Law is a self financing professional school affiliated to IEC University and recognized by the Bar Council of India. The University and the Bar Council of India have allotted 60 seats per annum for B. A. LL.B. (Hons.) five years integrated degree course, 120 seats per annum for B. com. LL.B. (Hons.) five years integrated degree course, 60 seats for LL.B. three years degree course, 10 seats for LL.M one year master degree course and 20 seats (each course) per annum for three post Graduate Diploma courses [i.e. Labour Laws, Consumer Protection Laws, Intellectual Property Laws]. The School ensures that the students get top university for LLB a comprehensive understanding of the practical aspects of law thus acquiring legal skills.
The School has been set up to impart legal education to students with its well-structured courses & aims to make them aware of the legal rights & responsibilities. The School ensures that the students get a comprehensive understanding of the practical aspects of law thus acquiring legal skills. The course includes seminars, tutorial work, moot courts and practical training programes. Legal internships/trainings provide an opportunity for students to increase their knowledge of substantive areas of law, gain exposure to a real work environment and provide valuable support to a legal employer.
The School of Law has its own well furnished moot court as per BCI norms. Moot Court has been set up to acquaint the students with the procedural and functional behaviour of law.
The School of Law has also established a Legal Aid Clinic for providing free help and guidance to needy persons as per BCI norms.

Significance of Study of Law
In a democratic welfare society, the significance of legal education cannot be overemphasized. In a democracy where essence of civil society is rule of law, law defends and promotes individual, the individual being the unit of society, social welfare is merely a shorthand description of the welfare of the individuals who constitute the society. In such a society, law serves as an instrument to achieve socio-economic development. Today, law is viewed not merely as an instrument of social control but also as an instrument of social change. Lawyers have been characterized as social engineers. Like liberal education, legal education presupposes to serve the society by imparting law student general and cultural education making them disciplined law abiding citizens. Such education will instill into the students the significance and relevance of democratic culture. As a professional education, legal education equips law students for playing different roles in society and discharging various law jobs, the range and scope of which are always expanding in the modern democratic society. Accordingly, it is realized in modern India that legal education ought to have breadth, depth and wide perspective

Teaching Methodology
The teaching methodology adopted at the School of law is intensive as well as extensive classroom teaching involving active participation of the students. Theoretical classroom teaching is supplemented by clinical legal work. It also includes preparation of project reports, project presentation, submission of assignments, seminars, moot courts, etc. The students are awarded for the best academic and professional performances. Teaching Pedagogy

The fast changing world economy has posed a challenge to the educational institutions to constantly revamp the discourse patterns. At IEC, we strive to gain a competitive edge in this arena. Having recognized the paradigm shift taking place in the management education to meet the aspiration of industry, we conduct the programs adding suitable values to the personality of students. In the Globalization era, when the corporate houses in business management and IT are expanding their wings all over the globe, need arises to produce quality pool which possesses the skill set required by the employers. Keeping this in mind, we at IEC initiated teaching methodology which works towards enhancing the skills of the students, so that they can be the best human resource to match the industry requirements. To do so IEC has adopted latest techniques in teaching methods which includes case studies, practical exercises, corporate guest lectures to fill up the gap between industry and academics, group activities to teach them how to work in team, practical exercises, and individual counseling for addressing their issues related to academics etc. The use of electronic media like PowerPoint presentations, use of internet, e-learning, mobile learning the classrooms helps students to understand the concepts better. Library
The School of Law has established a well-equipped library comprised of text and reference books, journals, periodicals, magazines and newspapers. A student will entitled to borrow two text books at a time from the library for a period of 14 days. The library card shall not be transferable. If the library card is lost, a duplicate card will be issued on payment. The School also provides computer facility to its students with internet connectivity and latest software along with a collection of CD ROM related to Law in side the Law Library.

Over 30,000 books, 100 journals and magazines on different subjects. Beautifully designed and with a seating capacity to accommodate 200 students has cubicles for faculty and research students Has subscription to national & international-journals like IEEE/IEE, Springer, ACM, ASCE Emerald Management Xtra through membership of INDEST Consortia of Indian Institute of Technology, Dehli. An active member of Developing Library Network (DELNET) for resource sharing.

Computing Facilities
250 Pentium IV workstations running on Windows 2010, Windows XP Pro, Linux and SCO Unix. All classrooms and offices equipped with 24*7 Internet connectivity with a 150 Mbps leased line Classroom and conference room fitted with LCD projection facilities and LAN. Computer lab with 600 systems for common purpose. All departments using CAD and CAM. Separate computer lab for each school and department with specialized software.

School of Law is wi-fi enabled modern class rooms enabling uninterrupted access to high speed internet 24*7.Outfitted with the latest technology. Spacious classrooms equipped with all the necessary presentation facilities and also have video conferencing facility. Every classroom and conference room is fitted with LCD projection facilities and LAN. Lectures are typically augments by multimedia.

Hostel Facility:
Students desirous of availing hostel facility may apply to the concerned authority of IEC University at the time of admission to the course. Students availing hostel facility shall have to pay hostel charges and security separately in addition to fee and other charges as per norms fixed by the Government of Himachal Pradesh from time to time.

Bus Facility:
Students desirous of availing bus facility may apply to the concerned authority of School of Law, IEC University at the time of admission to the course. Students availing bus facility shall have to pay transport charges as per IEC University Rules.
