Q.1. What is the procedure for admission in IEC University?
A.1. Admissions are done directly by submitting an Application Form to the Institution. Admission in any course of IEC University will be done on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in class 10th and 12th and for Post Graduation on the basis of marks obtained in Graduation or Under Graduate Program. For securing admission in B.Tech program, student must have secured at least 50% marks in 10+2 or should have valid rank/score in JEE Main Exam.
Admission in Management programs can also be obtained on the basis of rank / score in MAT / CMAT / CAT/XAT.
Q.2. How to apply for admission?
A.2. Admission can be obtained by filling Application Form of the IEC University by paying a nominal fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) to be submitted in cash or Demand Draft in favour of IEC University, Baddi payable at New Delhi / Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.
Student can also apply online and pay Form cost, Registration Amount and Tuition fee online through Debit/credit card through RBI approved payment gateway from our university website www.iecuniversity.com

Q.4. Is IEC University recognized by the Government?
A.4. I IEC University (IEC) was established under The IEC UNIVERSITY (ESTABLISHMENT AND REGULATION) ACT, 2012 , passed by Vidhan Sabha of Himachal Pradesh notified in the Gazette in May 2012 as in form of a non-affiliating, teaching and research University. IEC University is approved by UGC Act, AICTE, BCI, PCI, COA .

Q.6.Q. What other facilities are offered by the University?
A.6. The Campus is located right on the border of Chandigarh, Himachal and Haryana.
The following are the facilities:
At IEC the excellent infrastructure including amphitheatre style classrooms, modern labs and the well stocked library provide a solid foundation for excellence in academics. The Integrated Institutes of the university are interconnected through a highly secured IEC Virtual Private Network, where over 1000 PCs are interconnected to the internet through broadband connection.
Syndicate Rooms provide appropriate environment for teamwork, where students master their team skills through exercises like brain-storming sessions, group discussions, role plays etc.
The Campus has a standard jogging track, a football ground, basketball & tennis courts, modern gymnasium along with other indoor games such as billiards, table tennis, etc.
At IEC we have fully Air conditioned library. The University Library is having 24,000 books app. in various subjects and e-journals and software through Del-Net which provides access National & International Journals of repute.
A state-of-the-art auditorium acts as a common ground for students, faculty and corporate personalities for regular interface and other management events.
The University is providing hostel accommodation with all facilities to the boy and girl students. The girl hostel has full security provisions and anti-ragging measures. The University has its own medical facilities in case of any emergency.
Q.7.How direct admissions are done?
A.7. Admissions are done on the basis of merit and no donation is charged for direct admission in IEC University. Direct admissions to IEC University courses are done directly by making an application on the prescribed form which can be downloaded from the website or by obtaining the form from College Campus.
Direct admissions are done on the basis of merit list prepared after considering result of the rank of JEE Main and marks obtained in last qualifying examination.
Q.8.What is the procedure for Lateral Entry for Diploma students?
A8. Direct admissions are done on the basis of merit and marks obtained in diploma / last qualifying examination in the relevant subject.
Q.9.Whether I have to appear in any entrance examination?
A.9. Admissions are done on the basis of marks/ rank or percentage obtained in various Entrance exams like JEE Main/NATA/ CAT/ MAT / CMAT / XAT etc. or in any other State entrance Exam).
Q.10.What is the last date to submit the Application Form for direct admission?
A.10. The last date to submit the Application Form is subject to intimation from Higher Education. Generally its 3rd week of July.

A.12 The session commences immediately after the Orientation programme.

A.13. You should report at least one week before commencement of the program.

Q.18.What IEC stands for?
A.18 .IEC stands for India Education Centre which was established in the year 1981. India Education Centre was then converted into a public listed company in the year 1996. Since then IEC has become a brand in the field of technical and higher education.
Q.19. In which year the Groups First College was established?
A.19.The College was established in the year 1999 by the name of IEC College of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida. Later on the name of the college was changed to IEC Group of Institutions, Greater Noida .

Vocational Education Foundation (VEF), which established the IEC College of Engineering & Technology, was founded in 1989 and has come a long way striving hard to establish a way of life that contributes to the development of the Nation and its people through quality education. A.26.It is an institutional area. Baddi is a hilly state of North India, the town lies on the Border of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana State in the Shivalik Hills around 35 km west of Solan district. Chandigarh is around 32km. west of Baddi. The town is newfound love nest of Indian industry. Baddi is a fast growing industrial hub at the foothills of Himachal Pradesh in close proximity to Chandigarh. Q.32. What is the climate of Baddi?
A.32. Summers are extremely hot and monsoons are highly uncertain. During the monsoon period, sometimes the weather is cool and sometimes very humid. If you are planning a pleasure trip to this city, then the perfect time is between autumn and winters (mid-August to November), when the weather is pleasant. During this period, it is neither too hot, nor too cold and also there is not much of rainfall. Winters are chilling, especially during the late nights and early mornings.

A.33. Chandigarh (32 Kms. From Baddi) When it comes to excursions around Chandigarh, Pinjore gardens deserve a special mention. Also known as Yadavindra Gardens, they are situated about 20 kms away from the city. The work of creating Pinjore gardens began in the seventeenth century.
About 25km from University Campus there is a Gurudwara named Haripur.
Baddi at the distance of 118 kms. from Amritsar famous for Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as Sri Darbar Sahib or Golden Temple, (on account of its scenic beauty and golden coating for English speaking world), is named after Hari(God) the temple of God.

A.97. As per the Honorable Supreme Court directive the punishment will be given to any student found engaged in ragging activities.

A.98.The University Campus and Hostel are fitted with CCTV Cameras and a separate Anti-Ragging Cell has been established to keep a check on ragging.

What kind of visa do I need to be able to study in the IEC?
If you come from a �visa national� country, you will need a Student Visa to study in the IEC. In order to be successful in obtaining a General Student Visa you must show that you have:
- Evidence of sufficient funds to pass a *maintenance test;
- Your education documents (original certificate and transcripts) which have been used in order to obtain an offer from your chosen education establishment;
- Evidence that you have been accepted on to the following:
A full-time Undergraduate/ Postgraduate Degree level courses or above in a Higher Education Institution (HEI).
- For students on courses of less than 12 months, you will be expected to show that you hold sufficient funds to cover the full cost of your course fees plus 20,000/- per month for each month of the course up to a maximum of 12 months.
- For students on courses of more than 12 months, you will be expected to show that you have sufficient funds to pay the first year of fees only plus approximately 40,000/- (outside India) to cover your first year in the IEC.
Can international Students study part time?
If you are a student outside India it will not normally be possible to study part- time in India. In order to get visa/entry clearance into India as a student, you have to enroll on a full-time course.
I am a refuge. What fees do I pay?
Even if you have been granted refugee status asylum seekers in India, you have to pay the fees as applicable on International students please contact the International Office for advice.
Do I have to pay an accommodation bond (deposit) ?
It is University policy that all students must pay an accommodation bond..For 2011 the bond is $ 200 and this is to cover any possible damage charges. If you want us to reserve your accommodation for you, you will be required to send the bond payment together with your completed accommodation application form by the end of July. If, at the end of your stay in this accommodation, there has been no damage to the accommodation, and you do not owe any fee to IEC University, the deposit of $ 200 will be refunded to you.
When should apply for a student visa ?
You should apply for your student visa after you have:
*accepted your place on a full-time course
*paid registration deposit, if applicable
*received an unconditional letter from IEC confirming that you have met all academic, English language and financial conditions
*applied for your accommodation and paid the accommodation bond
When should I make my travel arrangements?
We recommend that you wait until you receive your student visa before making your travel arrangements. The International Welfare Office will arrange to meet you at the corporate office for further necessary guidance.
Do I need medical insurance?
Yes, and you have to bring it from your native country.
Can I apply late?
A late application may be accepted if places are still available. However, we strongly advise you to apply as early as possible, as the application process can be quite time consuming for overseas students. It takes a lot of time to pay a deposit if needed, to prepare and apply for a student visa, as well as make your travel arrangements.
Do I have to pay all my fees as soon as I arrive?
You have to pay all your first year�s tuition fees on enrolment.
When does the academic year start and finish?
Our academic year starts in August and finishes in June for undergraduate courses. Postgraduate students do not have a summer vacation. There are two breaks during the academic year (IEC University) of approximately15 days.
Do I need a visa to visit other countries?
If you would like to travel to other countries while you are studying in IEC, you may need a tourist visa. Please contact our International Welfare Officer, who will be happy to offer you guidance on this matter.
IEC is a wonderful Institution, an international heritage. It has the largest International student population, splendid Amphitheatres. The city centre, market place, shop sand stores are just a 10 minute walk away from the University.
